Every school that I’m familiar with see phones in schools as a problem, many see the opportunities as well but the problems remain. Most schools have an ‘out of site out of mind’ approach but few are actively using them in lessons.
I think that a sensible way forward would be for the leadership to start to work with pupils to slowly increment their use in lessons and try to explore the issues and advantages.
