I guess that a blog title like that is only going to grab a few people BUT … the others will be missing out.

You’ve no doubt seen the brilliant Gapminder animations – just a fantastic way of dealing with data and telling the story behind it – well – what I didn’t realise is that the data behind the graphs is available for download.  There are over 400 large datasets fully sourced and with animations.  Categories include:

Environment
For advanced users
Labour and employment
Trade, aid and investment
Poverty and Inequality
Population
Births and deaths
Disasters
Economy
Health
Geography and infrastructure
Education
Energy
Technology and infrastructure

 

This is a fantastic collection and I strongly urge you to have a look.

I often think that people struggle with data because of the difficulty in making the connection between the data and real life – this is just brilliant.
