OpenOffice 3

The latest version of Open Office (version 3) has been released (on the 13th Oct).

There have been improvements throughout although the general ‘look and feel’ is still windowsXPish rather than using a 2007 ribbon (a good thing if you ask me).

General ‘feel’ of the reviews I have seen suggest it’s good and well worth a download (remember it’s free).  It’ll do all the main things you’ll want in every day use but last the high end sophistication of MS office (are YOU using quickparts?) .

There seems to be a more wizard driven approach that could be helpful.

Sorry for the late news – I’ve only just found out myself ….
