No KS3 tests – but there is more

The scrapping of compulsory testing at KS3 caught the headlines today but there is more to this announcement and the detail will take some time before it is clear.

Included in the announcement:

Tighter focus on 1:1 support – especially with Y7 pupils who have fallen behind

School tests at 14 to be published (at local, authority and national levels) these marks will be externally sampled – including at a National level.

An ‘expert’ group will be drawn to advise on implementation.
