This site is an experiment in teaching great literature in a very different way. Using Google Earth, students discover where in the world the greatest road trip stories of all time took place (Thanks again to Ewan McIntosh for this one)
It made me think about other ways to use Google maps in a similar way – what about plotting the major events in History (say the second world war or the industrial revolution). In Design Tech or Geography plotting where goods come from (say in order to make a chair for example). I then started to wonder if you could use google maps or even MS Telescope to calculate the size of the world or solar system in Maths? … anyone know how?
